UBM Training
FAQ's
Where do your classes/experiences take place?
Our classes take place at various ranges and facilities in the DFW and Austin area.
The description for each class will indicate where it is taking place. Private training sessions and range experiences
Do I need previous experience to take a class or book an experience?
Unless specifically noted otherwise, you do not need to have any previous experience to attend the majority our courses or book any of our experiences.
In fact, we prefer you to have no experience as it is much easier to form new habits and learn new techniques than fix old ones.
How old do I need to be to attend a class?
To attend our regular courses, we require students to be at least 21 years old. However for private sessions and range experiences, we allow shooters as young as 12 provided they are attending with a parent.
How do I choose between classes?
At UBM Training Innovations we offer a wide variety of courses and classes to help meet the needs of all types of shooters; from family-oriented firearms & self-defense training to advanced training for competitive shooters and everything in between.
Our recommendation is to find what interests you most, what fits your ability level, goals & schedule, and what is within your training budget.
What does the cost of a class cover?
The price of a class is the price the course only. The student is responsible for costs associated with travel, firearms, ammunition, and personal gear. We do offer transportation assistance services as well as firearm and equipment rentals, however these are NOT included with the price of the class.
Do I need a background check to attend training?
Yes, unless you have a current state issued concealed carry permit. If so, then you will need to upload a copy of your permit and driver’s license during registration in lieu of a background check
What if I’m not comfortable sharing a copy of my license digitally? How do I obtain a background check?
Sentry Link offers a National Criminal Background Check for a fee of $19.95 per report. Once the report is obtained send the report to info@UBMTraining.com to have it included with your registration packet. You can send the report via the “Share” button.
How do I pay for the course?
During the registration process, you will be asked to enter your payment information in order to pay for the course. This payment is required to hold your place in the course due to class limits and the management of student / instructor ratios.
What should I bring to a course?
Each of our training classes has different requirements for firearms, gear, and ammunition. The course description for each class will provide information about what you’ll need to bring, how much ammunition you’ll need, and any other critical materials you’ll need for the class.
